BODYBUILDING AND SAVING LIVES

Modern bodybuilding is ritual, religion, sport, art, and science, awash in Western chemistry and mathematics. Defying nature, it surpasses it.
Camille Paglia

It's quite a wonder to me seeing talks, reviews, and criticism on the internet about how bad bodybuilding is stating 'wrong' reasons why it should be avoided.
Most people have been poisoned with this thought - that when you start weight training, you get all puffed and bulky which has deterred people from working out.

And the issue of steroids, now widely spread in the bodybuilding world has caused much havoc than good, and has got people talking about bodybuilding and fitness in a way that is not encouraging.

But the fact still remains that bodybuilding is still one of the oldest sports which has been in existence since the creation of man when they lift and carry bricks for road, rail construction and it's been helpful in making them attain a fit and healthy body.

Now lets put our minds in our modern day bodybuilding world.

Open your eyes and ears, see the positive impact weight training and fitness exercises has transformed people all around the globe, who have either lost hope and confidence into some great personalities in their respective fields. Got people off the streets. Saving others from their thug life.

And it's quite surprising to know that most people actually choose to neglect this fitness transformations, stories and facts.

I know quite a lot of people who have positive testimonies about how bodybuilding as an exercise has really affected their lives, transforming their body, boosting their moral, mental alertness, and also social life.

I'll tell you just one outta the numerous stories and happenings.

Are you ready?

Okay. Let's ride!!!

MOTOR ACCIDENT SURVIVOR

Coach A, as he is fondly called, is a detective in the Special Anti-Robbery Squad. He is a hardworking and courageous man, always been given the lead role in most operations, and this caused some hatred among his colleagues.

One fateful day, he was knocked over by a hit-and-run car in the line of duty.

He was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Alas!!!

The Doctor walks in, saw Coach A's condition, and surprisingly uttered a statement to him saying "it would have been a sorry case had it been you weren't a sportsman".  After noticing his physique and guessing he must have been involved in some sort of sport.

This is one of many stories I personally know bodybuilding has helped trainers in accident cases.

And less i forget, he got his lower body damaged as a result of the accident though he is still alive and currently undergoing series of treatments and life support.
.

I won't finish this article if i continue to write about other stories

pertaining to the positive impact of bodybuilding on lives and people.

CONCLUSION

It is fine if you don't support bodybuilding apparently. But let's all put this positive impacts into perspective when we hear people throwing stones of words at our industry.

We've got a great number of people who has gone against all odds and created a name for themselves in the bodybuilding cliche - men like Kai Greene, Coleman, Ullisses and a host of others out there.

To us, bodybuilding is not a job, it's more like a hobby and sheer passion. And also more of a way of life - taking control of our lives using this particular sport as a channel.
